Be present, breath, feel, find moments to be still, love, rest, and live as much as you can. You are not alone.

Journeying Into the Cave

The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure that you seek.
— Joseph Campbell

Welcome to the New Year! I recently read a Joseph Campbell quote in Brené Brown’s latest book, Dare To Lead“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure that you seek.” Pause for impact. Did it hit you like it did me? What a way to sum up personal development and everything that we do in therapy. What I know to be true from working with clients in my private practice is that often, the more we're willing to explore the dark spots in our lives, the ones that many of us tend to lean away from, the lighter we will come to feel.

My wish and hope for each of you this year is that you cultivate the courage to explore your caves, whether they're about money, sex, relationships, food, or substance use. As you venture into some of the darker passageways in your life, know that I'll be right there, walking beside you.

May 2019 be a year of cave-walking.

Warmly, Sandra
